Caro Hotel was the perfect base for a few days away. Located in a pared back palazzo and decorated in a minimalist style. The young, enthusiastic staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Spotlessly clean. Some nice little touches such as different turn down gifts each evening, excellent tea brought to the room on request and a free mini bar. Only a few minutes walk away from the cathedral and many cafes/restaurants. We had breakfast at a cafe in the sunshine each day - not sure whether we could have had breakfast at the hotel. There is a restaurant but it is very separate. Our only slight criticism was the relative lack of facilities which would be annoying for a longer stay. There's nowhere to relax, except your room and no gym. There is a bar but it only has a few very uncomfortable chairs and didn't seem to be much used. It might be more inviting in the summer when you can sit in the shady courtyard. However, all in all, a fabulous place to stay for a short break. We saw the other hotels we'd been considering and felt we'd made the best choice by far.
